Does the Invisionboard software have a plugin that allows users to embed Youtube vids?

Not that I'm aware of. I tried to embed some youtube a while back but couldn't get it to work. There have been a few upgrades since then so it's possible that feature could have been added but I haven't heard about it.

There is not a default option, but there is a very simple custom BBcode to allow it to happen:

Someone with ACP privileges:

Open up Custom BBCode within your Admin panel (Under Management Tab)

Set the Title & Description as Youtube (You can add more into description)

then next to Custom BBCode Replacement add the following:
CODE
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/{content}"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/{content}" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Then under Custom BBCode Tag add the following:
CODE
youtube

Then you're done and ready to embed youtube videos with the code, [youtube]video id here[/youtube]

To make sure I understand, the content that goes between the youtube tags is not the url of the youtube page right? It's the video ID like VdFRrZQags4 or whatever? Thusly:
[youtube]VdFRrZQags4[/youtube]

I'll check with the other mods and kroyster to see if they have any heartburn over me giving that a try. Thanks.

CODE
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/{content}"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/{content}" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

needs to be updated for YouTube's latest changes:

CODE
<object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v={content}"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v={content}" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360"></embed></object>
