are you talking about attaching a file to an email? If so, you select attach file, then you choose the file from the browser window that pops up. Which email program are you using?

I don't think you can attach a doc to a posting.

Maybe copy and paste it into your post.

I'd recommend hosting the file, if it's a PDF or Word doc and linking to it.

That's correct. You can't attach anything to a post except in the Classifieds. Best bet is to host it and point to it with a link (using the [url] tag).

Hosting something means to put it on a web server. Imageshack and Photobucket are a couple of free image hosting services that I'm aware of but I've never used either. Once the file is hosted, you copy the link and paste it into your post enclosed in [img] tags so that the BB s/w will know to display it as an image. Note that dynamic links (ones with a '?' in them) are not allowed; only static URLs will work. Here's an example:

I have an image hosted at this URL: http://www.math.fsu.edu/~gmizell/photos/BrouwersCafe.JPG

If I want to embed the image in a post, I put it inside [img] tags like this
CODE
[img]http://www.math.fsu.edu/~gmizell/photos/BrouwersCafe.JPG[/img]
and this is what it looks like:

I guess I should have read your post a little more carefully before I responded. I evidently didnt see the 'attach to my post' part, and just assumed email. sorry. I may have been drinking that day..... maybe. (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/hehe.gif)

I would open the file in MS Word, press control button (ctrl) and 'A' at the same time which highlights all the text, then control C to copy it, Then move over to your post and control V will paste all the text in to your post (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/smile.gif)
