Today we are brewing our 5th batch of all-grain on our Brew Magic system. This will be our 3rd batch of beer for the Charlotte Oktoberfest which is all ready selling tickets.

The batch we are brewing today is Irish Red. The previous two batches were Belgian Trippel and River Tyne Brown Ale.

The recipe for the Irish Red consist of:
9 lbs Brewer's 2-row Malt
11 oz Carapils Malt
8 oz Crystal Malt - 40L
4 oz Roasted Barley
11 oz Wheat Malt

3/4 oz Cluster hops for bittering
1 oz Cascade Flower hops for aroma

Palmer Cook is our resident brewer.

Starting Gravity should be 1.063 +/-
International Brewing Units should be 27.1
Color should be 14.3

We will have 12 batches at our tent at the Charlotte Oktoberfest and we hope to see you there. Get your tickets while they are available.

Palmer will be brewing an ALL-GRAIN version of our Briget's Love Potion Saison tomorrow - Friday July 10th.

He will be arriving early and you will be able to view the mashing procedures using our Brew Magic system starting at 8:30am. Stop by at convenience.

Belgian Pale Malt 10 pounds
Belgian Aromatic Malt 2 cups
Belgian CaraVienne Malt 1 cups
Honey Malt 2 cups
Candi Sugar Light 1 pounds

Kent Golding (Bittering) 1 ounce
Styrian Golding (Flavoring) 1 ounce
Hallertauer (Finishing) 1 ounce
Whirlfloc 1 tablet

Orange Peel 1/2 ounces
Coriander 1 ounces

Starting Gravity: 1.071 +/-
Terminal Gravity: 1.014-1.018
Color: 8
Alcohol: 6.7% +/-
International Bittering Units: 27
