Nice looking recipe I say. I am mashing an IPA of mine right now. Brewing a Belgian Style IPA. Chinook, Willamette, and Cascade ferment with Wyeast 3522. Cheers.

I'm about to add the first hop addition to a Cali-Common and drink the ceremonial toast.

Pilsner as a base malt? Interesting. Never seen this in an IPA...interested in hearing how this turns out.

Yup,
Found that in BYO as the base to make a DFH 60minute clone. Figured I would modify the recipe a bit though. Yeast was lagging on me a bit. I didn't have vigorous fermentation for about 48 hours. I'll report back in a few weeks.

I have brewed several IPA's with Pilsner malt and they have all turned out wonderful. I have shared them with friends and family no one has ever detected a difference and they have been well liked as well. I have a Belgian styled IPA bubbling away right now with Franco Belges Pilsner as well. I would not hesitate to use it in an IPA to be honest.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to follow up on this one. I shared with some friends on New Years and everyone liked it very much. I did get comments stating that it reminded them of DFH IPA, so I take that as a compliment. It turned out very well, just a bit cloudy. Overall, I really enjoy it myself. These are the important things (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/smile.gif)
PROST! Phil
