So brewed my first batch in a few years today. all was going well and i had everything i needed at hand and was on the right track..... or so i thought. so the brew was all done and i was ready to move it off the stove and cool it before pitching. so i lifted my brew off the stove and oh F*&k it was hot and i couldnt hold on (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/sad.gif)

So as my hand was burning i had thoughts of droping my first batch all over my kitchen floor and the possible burns i could get..... and then it got worse (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/sad.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/banghead.gif)

i dropped my pot onto of my Primary caraboy and it broke the bottem out (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/sad.gif)

and to make it worse my LHBS doesnt open till tuesday (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/crybaby.gif) so im SOL till then

Sorry to hear of your misfortune...but probably everyone here has had (or will yet have) moments like this. Buy a new primary, get back on the horse, and get brewing to put this behind you. Shite happens.

All great comments above and I agree with them all. Everyone has a story of something like this that happens. As said just replace what you need to and get back on the brew horse and fire up another batch. You know you still had a great time. Cheers.

Sorry to hear about that but as others have said: We've all done the same things, although maybe without the consequencesl (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/crybaby.gif)

Glad you did not get burned badly! You can always buy new stuff and brew more beer.

Sorry to hear of the bad luck, that sucks man! What really sucks is the current price of a 6.5g carboy if you can even find one anymore!

Hey weavefish - nice profile pic! (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/dry.gif)

To second mixnmatch - glad that you didn't get hurt badly - dry hot pads are crucial in a kitchen.

And, don't let it slow your roll - starting Tuesday! (I took almost 10 years off, so just be proud you didn't stall that long!)

Wavefish, glad to hear you didn't hurt yourself too much, maybe your pride. Make me take a step back and think about what I am doing. Like you I just got back into it. A 7 year break for me. First was 2 weeks ago, made lots of mistakes, but it still tastes good should be in the bottle next week. Second was yesterday, everything went perfect, I can't wait to drink this one.

We work with gallons of hot wort, heat, potential bottle bombs: Maybe we should all take a little more care.
