Wow.

Well, urine is supposed to be sterile, but who knows how long it was in the diaper.

I guess it depends alot on how far along the ferment was. If you hadn't even pitched the yeast yet, prognosis probably isn't good. If it was fully fermented and you were taking a gravity reading before bottling, you're probably ok.

I figure you don't really have anything to lose by letting it go. If it's bad you can just as easily dump it then as now. If it's good, drink up. It's not so gross if it's your own kid, IMO. I don't know if you've got a boy, but if anybody has changed a baby boy's diaper regularly and never gotten a stream of pee either in or very near their mouth, they're really lucky. It is more likely that the diaper absorbed beer than it released pee, no?

If it was well along in the process I'd probably keep it around and get a (clueless) friend to try it. (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/tongue.gif) If he likes it, it should be fine.

Edit: It is easy to give advice, but I'm not sure exactly what I'd do either. (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/crazy.gif)

This beer is destined for the septic tank, and you nor any other living thing should stand between it and its destination!

By adding the flavoring of fresh baby urine, it may give it that wild yeast flavoring like a lambic! (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/tongue.gif)

I am with the dump it crowd (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/sad.gif) . Time to brew again!

The brew may be fine, I'd say give it a go unless you can't get past the mental part of this.

The mental contamination is probably the worst part. My mother once threw out an expensive glass pitcher that a mouse had fallen into several months before being discovered. It would have cleaned up just fine, but no one complained when that sucker went into the trash can.

It just occured to me that you should really carry on, evaluate this brew, and report your findings. Add to our database! That way, the next time this happens and the BB is asked about it, we can cite with some authority what to expect... (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/cool.gif)

I agree! You never mentioned how long the offending article actually made contact with the beer. And... was it "wrapped up" (young parents know this... you roll it and "fasten" it closed)... it may not have even caused a problem. Now if the diaper was floating in there for any longer than say... 5 seconds... and the beer had complete contact with actual urine... adios cervesos.

You can let your Tinkle Brau finish out, but my guess it'll need some time to "mature" before it's ready for the world! (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/wink.gif)

Personally, if that were mine, that batch would already be in the same place the diaper is, the fermentor would be nuked with straight bleach (or thrown out), and I'd never mention it to anyone or my brewery would forever be known as Toddler Tinkle Brewing Co, (or something similar). (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/wink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/wink.gif)

Piss should only be the result of beer use, but NEVER used in beer! (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/beerchug.gif)

I thought I pampered my beer...

I agree with Old Fart, even if the diaper worked as designed and soaked up wort the whole time it was in contact, you know it was in there. Even if the beer was unaffected (uninfected?), you'd think about that diaper with each and every sip. Lose the batch and sanitize the heck out of the fermenter. Also, ask your Wife if she has any other 'surprises' stowed about.
