The problem with this thread is that, even after all these years, we're all left hanging in suspense.
Now to put this whole episode, hoax or not, in perspective, let's acknowledge that it's all about mental or perhaps biological aversion to body waist. Of course nobody shoud drink piss because it's just putting biologic toxins back into our systems in high concentrations that will require even higher volumes of water to get rid of again. Not good for you even if your crossing the Sahara and short on drinking water. Imbibing small amounts, however, will not cause ANY HARM. Urine, in a healthy human, is sterile. It's not like poop, which is infested with miserable disease-causing microbes. The real risk in this case was not from the urine itself but from microbes on the diaper, or microbes which got into the urine post-void. So the real problem was not the urine per se, but the risk of a large unsanitary foreign body contacting the beer and causing contamination. |

I can't believe the number of posts who vote to dump the batch. I've got 2 kids under the age of 2 and it's diaper central around here. Now I've never dropped a diaper into the brew but just about every other place in this house has been pissed on in some way (just wait till you have kids).
If you've ever eaten out you've ingested a lot worse than the tiny amount of urine that may or (more than likely)may not have gotten into your batch. I've seen posts where people suggested letting a batch ride out after flies or other things got in. Really is this worse? |
