I love beer (especially real beer),
I am from St. Louis,
I am a boater, cans only aboard (3rd boat),
Sometimes nothing beats a clean crisp lager on a hot a$$ day.

Now, I have gone through phases with the other big brewers (price, cans for the boat, considering by the end of the beer half is lake water and warm). But, as far as mass-produced lagers go, Bud is "The king of beer" on a hot day when you are damn thirsty.

My wife, mother in law and I were in Dublin about 10 years ago and went out to eat at a restaurant/pub. Knowing my passion for beer, mother in law offered to buy me a beer, which I accepted...she returned with a Bud, which cost her about 5 Irish pounds (about $9 US). I politely drank up, but... I admit it. I used to be a Bud drinker. I'm not proud of it. But once I first started drinking Guinness, launching point of taste, I have never looked back. I went to a golf outing last year and with drink tickets I got a Bud and had to actually choke it down. With my second drink ticket I got a Coke. Sorry, but this Bud isn't for you, anymore.

p.s. Bud tastes like extra light DME boiled without hops and then fermented. Pardon my quoting MAD magazine but YEEETCH!

I know it's in style for homebrewers and beer snobs to rag on Bud, but... well, bud is just not good beer. It doesn't have a good flavor. And it has a horrible cloying aftertaste.

For example, we could rag on Miller Genuine Draft for the same reason, but other than being pretty boring, there's nothing wrong with MGD. There is something wrong with Bud.
