Handcrafted in Scotland since 1719, so says the bottle. Nice pour. Solid nut brown in color. Aroma is almost sweet in character. A bit too much carbonation for my liking but I think the Brits/Scots like it that way. Smooth first taste, good blend of bittering hops. Very drinkable. Didn't blow me away, questioning if it was worth what I paid for it.

I give it a 7.

I don't have the skill to write a thorough analysis, but I really like this beer. It helped me rediscover the malt side of beer. I do agree about the price concerns. Here it costs about the same as a similar sized bottle of Fuller's or Samuel Smith, and considering some of the great domestic craft beers available in that price range, it's a tough call.

I gave it an 8, as I'd definitely go out of my way for one.

I occasionally pick up a single, but at $9.99 or more a six-pack I don't get it often. I thoroughly enjoy the maltiness of this one, I gave it a 7.

I don't recall what I gave this one as I voted on it some time ago, but it is a good beer. Good malty taste, but pretty well-balanced bitterness too. I prefer this beer almost room temp.

If I was to vote on it again, I'd give it a 7.

I like Belhaven's Wee Heavy much better, and again it is much better if served almost warm.

This beer taste fresher in the widget can than the bottle. The restrained smokiness, malt complexity and mineral water composition are perfectly blended. I can imagine this beer on tap would be remarkeable. If it's a 7-8 after traveling across the pond, it probably is a 10 on the home tap.

Hmm. I've never seen it in the can around here. I'll have to keep my eyes open for it.

Great on tap (provided it hasn't been sitting around too long and the lines are clean). I don't enjoy enough out of the bottle to pay the price though. I think all the major descriptors have been mentioned. Malty, smooth, a little sweet. Easy to drink (maybe a little TOO easy (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/hehe.gif) )

I had a couple of cans of it Saturday and really enjoyed it, especially as it warmed a little. Never seen it in bottles and on tap would be out of the question but it was very good this weekend.

Gave it a 5. I guess I'm not into the Wee Heavy style. This is the first scotch ale I've tried. It was good, but kind of plain tasting. Very malty beer, just not my favorite style.

Great malty goodness, a little pricey, but a solid 8.
