Recently I made the decision to replace my Hanna Piccolo pH probe as it was nearing time to replace the elctrode (for the 2nd time, cost ~$50). After some searching I came upon the Jenco Model 618 pH probe. It had many features not present in the Piccolo probe, and cost only a few dollars more than the Piccolo probe's electrode - $59.95 (+$10 Shipping). Another factor in my decision was that replacement electrodes were only $30 compared to the $50 for the Piccolo probe.

Although the models being offered by the eBay vendor (Szu Hung Distributors) state that the temperature readouts were in °C [model 618C], Jenco does make a probe that has a °F readout [model 618F]. I confirmed with the vendor that he could ship a 618F model instead of the 618C. All it took was make a notation in the comment section of the eBay purchase form.

Now that I have the Jenco 618F probe, and have it calibrated, I am completely satisfied wth its ease of calibration and use. It has so many more features than the Piccolo probe - any one want a Piccolo probe, cheap (PM me)? (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/sorry.gif)
