I just finished racking my HBA Big Ben Barley Wine to 2ndry after 2 weeks in primary.

This was the all-grain version that I pitched on yeast cake from the week prior's HBA Nut Brown Ale. Fermentation was explosive; it was the first time I had to use a blow off tube in a bucket. My OG ended up being 1.100 after a 3 hour boil.

The 2ndry sample rang in at 1.021. The flavor is awesome! Even though young and hot from the 10.55 ABV, a lot of complex notes going on. Raisins, caramel with a little currant. This one will age well. Can't wait for the 9-10 months for the big beast.

This may be the best beer I've done.
