This forum is a place for posting general questions, comments, and feedback about HBA / Alt Bev for Jess (the owner) to read and respond to. This is not a place to initiate urgent or order-specific questions. Before posting here, ask yourself if the general public will benefit from the question and answer. If not, you should probably call or email Jess directly. If you have a complaint, Jess would also appreciate the courtesy of a private first contact so that he has the opportunity to correct the problem to your satisfaction.

Made my first stop at HBA last weekend. What a place, and I've been driving right by it for years. I meant to ask the guys in the shop this, but can you get the HBA recipes (aniline ale, chappaquiddick etc) in the store while you wait? tia - jon.

Hey Jon

I suggested the same idea to Ken just last week. Have recipes on the shelf from some of the club beers that can be assembled quickly and freshly while you wait.

We can assemble any of the 150 kits while you wait. Sometimes, business is so brisk on Saturdays that the wait could be extended but we will always try to minimize that time. We can make recipes in advance of your arrival if you can give us a heads up. If ordering through the shopping cart (particularly on Saturday), it would be prudent to follow up with a phone call because shopping cart and email orders are not monitored on week-ends.

That is not much we can't or won't do to satisfy your needs or wants concerning ingredient packaging.

It is our goal to have one to two of most of our 150+ recipes pre-packaged on the shelf. Our packaging allows for 2-3 months shelf life without harm coming to the ingredients or making an inferior product.

Because of a lack of adaquate display space in our 3,000 square foot show room, we have some things in the back which are available including:
Flower hops,
Plug hops,
a half dozen specialty malts beyond the 57 in self serve bins,
ball-type Cornelius kegs,
pin-type Cornelius kegs,
some Cornelius and commercial draft parts,
some primaries, and
repair parts for most products that are some.
