Thinking about it, but if I start now I won't be done till 10pm or so, and there's some bands starting at 9, so I think it will wait until my day off next week. Two kegs are empty! time to get things filled up again!
Have fun with the whole hops. I remember the first time I used them, I just ordered some hops, and it wasn't specified whether they were whole or pellet. I opened the bag and just went, "huh. what am I supposed to do with these?" I have since learnt about how they like to get stuck in my taps and my tubes and my valves, and have worked around it, but I also like how look, and taste, and feel squishing them out before I throw them in the bin. |

No beer today, I did a double on wednesday. I am going to start an "uber-berry" melomel, even though the leap year mead making kind of fizzled. Check back in four (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/shock.gif) years and I will let you know how it turned out. (If I can be that patient (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/devil.gif) )

Doing my house version of Two Hearted, inbetween hop additions Who Farted, 1.063, 61 IBU's a little Summit and Centennial. Preboil looks like I may overshoot my gravity - I'll deal with it (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/devil.gif) This post has been edited by DJ in KC: Feb 29 2008, 02:53 PM |

I was going to brew on the 29th, but it ended up I had to work. Then I went out and got drunk, so I couldn't brew today (lack of preparation and a pretty major headache this morning). Tomorrow is "be with wife" day, so hopefully next week I'll finally be able to brew a couple times. Man, I really need to brew!!!

I finally got around to brewing a 10 gallon batch of Quiet Storm Oatmeal Stout. What's even better is I invited a new guy from the board to watch. He got there as I finished crushing the grain and mashed in. He stayed throughout the entire brewing process.

If it's not Scottish, it's crap!
Just started the mash for a Scottish Ale. Never made one before so I'm trying out a recipe from BYO from last October when they did a whole column on Scottish Ales. |
