I am not sure if I placed this in the right column. I just need some advice. I have 4 bottles of Stone AB Oaked from a 6er that was given to me by in laws. Now I will say this is a great version of an American Strong Ale and you can taste the Oak as well. With that being said this beer is not available to purchase in my area (North Carolina) anyone out there where this is available, can you tell me what a trade value might be for this. I am thinking of trading my last 4 bottles for say hops or grain at my next homebrew club meeting. I would appreciate any assistance or advice, or even so if you are near Raleigh NC I am willing to trade to you too. Thanks again!!

Mike

I am looking for value in terms of $$ since I was thinking of trading for some grains or hops not bottles for bottles. Sorry if my request sounded off. I am just curious what amount of grains would be comparable.

Thanks Mike

Well that stuff's $10 for a sixer so five to eight pounds of grain or maybe 5 or six ounces of hops. How hard is it to find that stuff over there?

I know Stone is over in your neck of the woods but there is no distribution here in NC. You gotta head up to VA or down to GA as far as I know. Ok thanks for the insight.

You wont find Stone down here in GA. Trust me, I have looked at every beer store in the greater ATL area that I have been to and they have everything else but.

If I had know that before the move, it might have been the deal breaker. Stone is one of my fav. brewers. Every time I head back to Denver I stock up.

I just made a road trip from Fl to CT and stopped at the Capitol Ale House in Richmond VA. I had 2 Mad River Steelhead DIPA's and a Stone Ruination with dinner, then after looking through their bottle menu I bought 2 Oake Aged Arrogant Bastard 12 ozers for 6 buck a piece. That was at bar prices but considering that you can't get it where you are I guess that might be a fair trade value for your area.

It's available here in NY. If I remember correctly, it is considerably more expensive than regular AB. I want to say $18 for a six, if my memory serves correctly.

I'm in San Diego about 20 miles from the brewery and AB Oaked goes for $13/six pack here. I was blown away when I saw regular Stone Pale Ale and IPA now getting $10/six pack at Vons, our local grocery store. I knew that beer prices were going up but $10/sixer for the regular stuff hits some sort of mental barrier for me. Luckily I can still get Stone Pale Ale for $24/case at Costco.
