Had a great time this past weekend at this first annual beer festival that was located in the small town of Hermann, MO. There were probably 15 or so Missouri breweries that had an average of 4 beers to taste (some more, some less). I enjoyed most, but a select few stood out including Buffalo Brewing's Rye IPA, Schlafly's Barleywine (there was a special tasting for it), and Morgan Street's Harvest Lager. I was however disappointed that there were no stouts to sample, although I think Schlafly had a special tasting of their imperial stout after we had left for the day. Ran into HarvInSTL who was brewing on the premises (batch of Oktoberfest). He shared an outstanding bourbon oaked imperial stout (~11%) and it by far was the best that I had tried all day.
