ha sounds like a dating service... what do you think about the idea of dedicated threads ogranized by state for brewers to help find their local brothers and sisters?

I voted "No Pants"

In the Kansas City area, we get together all the time. Check the "Events & Announcements" forum... works for us!

Anybody in the KC area, you're welcome to join us! But, be forewarned... sometimes we drink beer!

I can't resist voting for "No pants" but this sounds fun. Mark me down for North Georgia (IMG:style_emoticons/brewboard/cool.gif)

Let's set it up. Here's a suggestion: take turns brewing at each other's homes. Then, share the finished product at the next get together.

Texas is too big a state for only one thread. It would have to be by city or metro area, like Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, Austin, Luckenbach, etc.

What to do with the 'Events and Announcements' threads.
I have a post in there for the Findlay, OH Club and if there was another place to post someone would need to migrate them over to the new thread. Several clubs are listed in there. I would have no problem with then being sorted by State, Region, or Timezone.

Now if you don't have something close enough you could post a meeting at your place to get a Club started. Our initial turnout was about eight brewers and at a later meeting there was around thirty. These people make good beer, mead, and wine!
BTW we are meeting at 6 PM tonight.

Bob

I must say, as a new brewer, and as a brewer that is in arizona half the year and california the other half, its dificult for me to get too involved in anything like that.

So far my experience with brewers in los angeles is limited to the stodgy old farts at the LHBS, and in the flagstaff HBS, a bunch of young bucks like myself who perhaps are good brewers, im just not into the smelly hippie scene.

maybe im being too picky, but im just looking to meet some folks that can hold a conversation and school me in the art of the brew...
